Olivia Halls is a PhD candidate and Research Officer at the Centre for Social Policy Research (POLIS) at the Australian National University. Her doctoral research is interested in the barriers that schools face in implementing alternative disciplinary practices in schools. Positioned within the literature on the school-to-prison pipeline, her work investigates the persistence of school exclusion as a practice and explores how youth policies can be adapted to support more relational, non-exclusionary school environments.
